action

In order to forestall an impending armed conflict between the major military powers, a world peace conference is convened, to which an American newspaper sends its chief reporter Percy Buck. As failure looms on the horizon, Buck begins to turn to other things. Above all, he has his eye on the glamorous and exalted revue star Vera van Loon, with whom he quickly falls in love. Percy leaves no stone unturned to land with the lady, but she regularly gives him the cold shoulder. Percy is clear: he absolutely needs more time to conquer the heart of the cool beauties. He has a brilliant idea.

In order to extend the World Peace Conference, the newspaper man publishes in his postil a deliberate false report according to which revolutionary developments in atomic research have been made that make an extension of the conference indispensable. The diplomats are now forced to resume their negotiations in order to finally come to a final declaration that will calm the world situation. The secret services of the nuclear powers also have a lot to do and are following Buck's heels to find out what “nuclear secrets” could be in the said newspaper article. Since the Soviets found out about Buck's crush on Vera, they unceremoniously set the capricious Revuediva on Percy to find out about him. At the final ball of nations, everything will now dissolve in favor, and world peace has once again been preserved ...
