Ballads is the 15th studio album by German songwriter Reinhard Mey . It was published by Intercord in 1988 . The twelve songs, which are not all ballads in the classical sense , were written and composed by him.

content

Reinhard Mey's “ballads” range from humorous songs ( Die Body-Building-Ballade ), political ( In this, our country ) to thought-provoking songs ( Die Eisenbahnballad ). Thematically, the album includes flying ( The Last Adventure ), Love ( What a Happy Man ), Thanks to people in social professions ( Thanks for your time ) and Parenthood ( All good things come in threes ). The railway ballad occupies a special position due to its length of a good ten minutes . It tells the history of Germany parallel to the history of the railroad. Mey thanks Klaus Winkler for researching this ballad.
