content

Many of the 15 songs on the album deal with everyday situations that Reinhard Mey experienced, for example Mr. Fellmann actually existed according to Reinhard Mey's statement in the talk show 3 to 9 . Another topic is getting older, which he addresses, for example, in So Many Summers. With Mr. Lee he takes up the death of his son, whose vegetative state was the subject of previous albums.

Reviews

The Süddeutsche Zeitung feels “reminded of the brisk mouth, the omnipresent freedom issue and the anti-philistineism of young Mey”. The Rolling Stone sees a “gently smug late work by the soft giant”.

Chart placement

Mr. Lee reached number three on the German album charts and stayed there for 18 weeks. In 2018 the live version ( Mr. Lee Live ) was released.
