Mey, Wader, Wecker - the concert is a live album by the singer and songwriter Hannes Wader together with Reinhard Mey and Konstantin Wecker from 2003.

Emergence

On the occasion of his 60th birthday, Hannes Wader gave an anniversary concert to which he also invited Reinhard Mey, Konstantin Wecker and the pianist and keyboardist Jo Barnikel , who had worked with Konstantin Wecker for years. The concert took place on June 21, 2002 in Wader's hometown Bielefeld .

In the foreword to the booklet for this double CD, Wader writes that a concert with him, Wecker and Mey would never take place again and that this should remain an exclusive concert experience with a unique character, so to speak. The songwriter was wrong. The next event should be on February 15, 2003 in Berlin . It was the big demonstration against the Iraq war , in which over 500,000 people took part. Because of the renewed meeting of Mey, Wader and Wecker, an extended and limited edition of this album was released in November 2003. Three songs from the joint concert against the Iraq war were added. Reinhard Mey sang his title Peace , Konstantin Wecker an updated version of his hit Willy , under the name Willy 5 , and all three sang Wader's peace hymn It's time from the album of the same name (released in 1980).
