Farben is the 16th German studio album by German songwriter Reinhard Mey and was released on April 1, 1990 by Intercord .

content

The album begins with Mein Berlin , in which Reinhard Mey tells the story of Berlin from the end of World War II to the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

There are four family-related songs on the record, which are probably inspired by Reinhard Mey's own experience: In Little Girl , the father sings about his little girl, in In Lucianos Restaurant it is described how he and his family visit an Italian restaurant, the children's ballad the father describes the growing up of his two older sons and the subsequent daughter on the basis of the experiences with a pair of trousers, which they all put on one after the other, and in Between All Stools the songwriter sings how he has to learn that his child begins in puberty from the parents to disconnect and become independent.

Political titles can also be found on the album, such as Wahlsonntag and Alle soldiers want to go home , which he recorded with friends and colleagues ( Klaus Hoffmann , Heinz Rudolf Kunze and Hans Scheibner ).

Alone tells about being and being left alone and about false friends. The Christian songwriter Clemens Bittlinger used and re-recorded this song for his CD Pictures of the Passion , which was released in 2006 .

My village at the end of the world reports on being safe in a good and well-known place, where you can always return and look forward to being there.

Reinhard Mey gives in Ich hab 'mein Rostlaube deepened an insight into his youth and the time of the first great love.

Golf November tells of an air rescue mission , based on a true story at Christmas 1986 near Hanover .

The song Wir is about the difficult coexistence in a marriage and describes a scene, both from the point of view of the man and the woman.
