With lust and love is a live album by the German songwriter Reinhard Mey . It was published by Intercord on April 1, 1991 and is now distributed by EMI .

The album was created during Reinhard Mey's tour for his album colors in 1990/1991. The singer-songwriter performed older pieces such as I wanted to sing like Orpheus , Die Homestory and Zwei Hühner auf dem Weg nach Yesterday , but most of the songs performed come from his two most recent publications, Colors and Ballads , such as My Berlin , Alone , All Good Things are three and the walls of my time.

The song Gretel and Kasperle, Grandmother, Wachtmeister and Crocodile is missing from the record and music cassette edition.

As an encore, Mey sang the song Goodbye to good night with his producer Manni Leuchter , his manager Peter Graumann and Dieter Cramer . The album was mixed by Urs Metzger .

Cover design

The record cover was designed by ROBART from Sindelfingen . It shows Reinhard Mey, who is illuminated by spotlights , on a stage in front of a dark background. He is holding roses in his left hand and his guitar in his right. His head is turned towards the photographer. The picture is in black and white .

Others

With this album the closer collaboration between Reinhard Mey and Manfred Leuchter began. Leuchter had already been part of Mey's team on Mey's previous tour in 1986/1987, but without having any major influence on Mey's work. Starting with his next studio album Alles geht Leuchter increasingly took on responsibility for the songwriter's albums.
