Reinhard Mey live is the first live album by German songwriter Reinhard Mey . It was published by Intercord in 1971. It was recorded in Berlin. Almost all of the 25 songs on the double album were written and composed by him. Exceptions are the songs Das Canapé (author unknown) and Irgendwann, somewhere (music: Louis Rey). Klaus Krüger was responsible for the sound engineering.

content

The album combines the greatest successes of the songs published up to then. In his announcements, he combines the first songs with the "attempt to write a love song". Since, according to his own assessment, he does not succeed in doing this, he can always start a new attempt. Even if the performance of most of the songs is closely based on the studio recordings, there are significant deviations. For example, he performs Die Ballade vom Pfeifer much faster. Reinhard Mey wrote the text on the back of the record bag himself, so that “what is written there should also be correct”. In it he explains his motivation to write and sing songs to tell something, to take a position or to bring joy.
