That nothing stays the same is an album by the singer and songwriter Hannes Wader from 1982.

Origin / meaning

That nothing stays the same is Wader's second live album. There are six other live albums: Hannes Wader sings Arbeiterlieder (1977), Until now (1986) for the singer's 20th anniversary on stage, appearance: Hannes Wader (1998), Was für eine Nacht (2001) - a sound document of the summer tour same year with Konstantin Wecker, Mey, Wader, Wecker - das Konzert - a sound document of a concert on Wader's 60th birthday with Reinhard Mey and Konstantin Wecker - and No End in Sight (2010, with Allan Taylor).

It is a live recording of the 1981 autumn tour.

The album also attracted attention in the GDR. It was also published in 1982. Instead of the title Today here, tomorrow there , it contained the songs Memory and Sleep Dearest

  • During the autumn tour, Hannes Wader toured with the band that accompanied him live in the 80s: Lydie Auvray (accordion, percussion), Reinhard Bärenz (guitar, violin) and Hans Hartmann (bass). Lydie Auvray played on the album It's About Time .
  • Hannes Wader was his own producer again and was supported by Ulrich Maske.
  • Martin Berschel, Dieter Seidel and Dirk Holm reworked the sound in the studio. Ben Ahrens was responsible for the live recording.
  • With the songs Winterlied and Sommerlied , Wader sang Degenhardt titles for the first time, but they never appeared on a studio album. Also on the live album : Hannes Wader (1998) Wader sings a Degenhardt title: Reiter again on the Black Wall , which was also never to be found on a studio album.
  • The songs here today, there tomorrow , already so long and pipe in the wind come from the album 7 songs (1972). The title Traum vom Frieden appeared on the album Wiederwegs (1979).
