Johann Balthasar Lutter (born May 2, 1698 in Hanover ; † September 18, 1757 ibid) was a German violinist and Royal British and Electoral Hanover Court Kapellmeister .

Life

Balthasar Lutter was born in the royal seat of the Electorate of Hanover, where he began his music training with Francesco Venturini on October 1, 1716 . After the beginning of the personal union between Great Britain and Hanover , Lutter was appointed royal court and chamber musician under his sovereign King George I in 1720 .

After Venturini's death, Balthasar Lutter succeeded him in 1745 under George II as the Royal British and Elector Hanoverian court conductor.
