Banda del Río Salí is the capital of the Cruz Alta department in the Tucumán province in northwestern Argentina . The city is located three kilometers east of the provincial capital San Miguel de Tucumán at an altitude of 425 meters and has 63,226 inhabitants (2010, INDEC ). Banda del Río Salí is bordered to the north by the city of Alderetes , to the east by the rural communities of Delfín Gallo and Colombres , to the south by the communities of San Andrés and Ranchillos-San Miguel and to the west by the Río Salí .
