Bandino Panciatichi (also Bandino Panciatici ; born July 10, 1629 in Florence , † April 21, 1718 in Rome ) was an Italian clergyman and cardinal of the Roman Church .

Life

He came from a high-ranking family from Pistoia, who were related to Pope Clement IX. would have. Bandino Panciatichi studied at the University of Pisa, where he received his doctorate iuris utriusque . He moved to Rome with his relative, Cardinal Giulio Rospigliosi, who later became Clement IX. He practiced with the well-known lawyer Giambattista De Luca , who later became a cardinal. After the election of Clement IX. Bandino Panciatichi entered the clergy and in 1668 in the service of the Curia . Shortly afterwards he became the deputy auditor of the Apostolic Chamber . Under the pontificate of Clement X , he resigned from this office “so as not to violate the duties of the judiciary” (“ non mancare ai doveri della giustizia ”) and returned to Florence. Pope Innocent XI. brought him back to Rome in 1678 and appointed him secretary of the Congregation for the Apostolic Visitation and the status of regular clergy. In 1686 he became secretary of the Congregation for Bishops and Regular Clerics, and Bandino Panciatichi was trainee lawyer at the courts of the Apostolic Signature . On October 7, 1689, he was appointed Pro- Datar of His Holiness .

Bandino Panciatichi was appointed Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem on October 14, 1689 , on the dispensation that he had not yet received any ordinations . He was ordained bishop on December 21, 1689 in the Roman church of San Filippo Neri by Cardinal Gasparo Carpegna . On January 25, 1690 Bandino Panciatichi became Papal Assistant to the Throne .

In the consistory of February 13, 1690, Pope Alexander VIII accepted him as a cardinal priest in the college of cardinals . He received the red hat on February 16 of the same year and San Tommaso in Parione as the titular church on April 10, 1690. Bandino Panciatichi took part in the conclave of 1691 , the Innocent XII. elected to the Pope. This confirmed it on July 14, 1691 as a Pro-Datar. He moved on August 8, 1601 to the titular church of San Pancrazio . From 1699 to February 3, 1700 he was chamberlain of the Holy College of Cardinals . Bandino Panciatichi died on April 21, 1718 at 9:30 p.m. in his Roman residence in the Palazzo Bolognetti . He was buried in Florence in the church of Santa Maria Novella in a family grave.
