Basillac (until 2002: Bassilac ; Occitan : Bassilhac ) is a town and commune Déléguée in the French municipality of Bassillac et Auberoche with 1,936 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine .
With effect from January 1, 2017, Basillac was merged with Eyliac , Milhac-d'Auberoche , Saint-Antoine-d'Auberoche , Blis-et-Born and Le Change to form the Commune nouvelle Bassillac et Auberoche and has since had the status of a Commune déléguée . The municipality of Basillac was part of the Arrondissement of Périgueux and the canton of Isle-Manoire (until 2015: canton of Saint-Pierre-de-Chignac ).

Bassillac is about seven kilometers east of the city center of Périgueux . The river Isle runs to the north . Bassillac is surrounded by the neighboring communities Antonne-et-Trigonant in the north, Escoire in the north and north-east, Le Change in the north-east, Eyliac in the south and east, Saint-Laurent-sur-Manoire in the south and south-west, Boulazac in the west and Trélissac in the north-west .
The A89 car route runs along the southern edge of the municipality . The Périgueux airport is located in the municipal area.
