Escoire ( Occitan : Escoira ) is a French municipality with 418 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the north of the department Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Périgueux and the canton Trélissac (until 2015: canton Savignac-les-Églises ). The inhabitants are called Escoirais .
geography
Escoire is about ten kilometers east-northeast of Périgueux on the Isle , which borders the municipality to the north and west. Escoire is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Antonne-et-Trigonant in the north and west, Sarliac-sur-l'Isle in the northeast, Bassillac et Auberoche in the south and east.
