Siorac-de-Ribérac is a French municipality with 251 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Périgueux and the canton of Ribérac .

The name in the Occitan language is Sieurac de Rabairac and can be traced back to an estate that belonged to a "Severus" in Gallo-Roman times .

The inhabitants are called Sioracois and Sioracoises .

Siorac-de-Ribérac is located about 30 km west of Périgueux in the Double area of the historic province of Périgord on the western edge of the department.

Tributaries of the Dronne cross the territory of the municipality,

Population development

After records began, the number of inhabitants rose to a peak of 845 in the first half of the 19th century. In the following period, the size of the community fell to around 225 inhabitants until the 1970s, with short recovery phases. This level was maintained until the turn of the millennium, when a short phase followed with growth to around 260 inhabitants. Recently, there has been a slight stagnation again.
