Creyssac ( Occitan Creissac ) is a place and a French municipality with 99 inhabitants (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The community consists of the main town as well as some hamlets (hameaux) and individual farms (fermes) .
Location and climate
The place Creyssac lies on the river Dronne in the cultural landscape of the Périgord at an altitude of about 90 m . The city of Périgueux is a good 25 km (driving distance) northwest; the small town of Ribérac is located approx. 25 km south-west. The climate is temperate; Rain (approx. 885 mm / year) falls over the year.

The continuous decline in population in the 20th century is mainly due to the mechanization of agriculture and the abandonment of small farms.
economy
Residents of the community lived for centuries as self by the Agriculture and Forestry (cereals, charcoal); Fruit and vegetables were grown in the hotel's own gardens or offered at the market. There is a quarry in the municipality.
history
Small Neolithic finds were made in the municipality . In the 13th century the place names Creischac or Creichac can be found ; at that time the parish belonged to the castellany of Bourdeilles .
Attractions
- The Église Saint-Barthélemy has a Romanesque origin, but it was completely redesigned in the 19th century because of its poor state of construction. The crossing tower with its all-round open viewing platform is striking . The nave , the domed vestibule yoke and the apse are plastered and painted with joints . The building has been classified as a Monument historique since 2002
- The Manoir du Boulou estate dates back to the 19th century.
- The Château de la Barde is a two-storey building from the beginning of the 19th century; it replaced a previous building that had been destroyed during the revolution .
