La Chapelle-Montabourlet ( Occitan La Chapela de Montaborlet ) is a French city and a municipality (commune) with 62 inhabitants (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The community consists of the small main town and some hamlets (hameaux) and individual farms (fermes) .
Location and climate
The place La Chapelle-Montabourlet is located in the north of the cultural landscape of the Périgord vert at an altitude of about 195 m . The city of Périgueux is about 40 km (driving distance) in a south-easterly direction; the small town of Ribérac is a good 22 km southwest. The climate is temperate; Rain (approx. 900 mm / year) falls over the year.

Residents of the community lived for centuries as self by the Agriculture and Forestry (cereals, charcoal); Fruit and vegetables were grown in the hotel's own gardens. Small traders and craftsmen have settled in the village. Some of the vacant houses have been converted into holiday apartments ( gîtes ) .
history
Little is known about the history of the place; in the Middle Ages he belonged to the sphere of influence of the Bishop of Angoulême . The Romanesque church shows a defensive bay (bretèche) on its south side .
Attractions
The single-nave Église Saint-Barthélemy was built in the 12th century; In the 13th and 15th centuries, renovations took place with the aim of raising and fortifying the nave . The rather simple church structure has been classified as a monument historique since 2000 .
