Saint-Méard-de-Drône is a French municipality with 497 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Périgueux and the canton of Ribérac .

The name in the Occitan language is Sent Meard de Drona and is derived from Saint Medardus of Noyon . The addition of "Drône" refers to the Dronne river , which crosses the municipality's territory.

The inhabitants are called Saint Méardais and Saint Méardaises .

Population development
