Savignac-les-Eglises ( Occitan : Savinhac de las Gleisas ) is a French municipality with 972 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the north of the department Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Nontron (until 2017: Arrondissement Périgueux ) and the canton Isle-Loue-Auvézère (until 2015: Canton Savignac-les-Églises ). The inhabitants are called Savignacois .
geography
Savignac-les-Églises is located about 18 kilometers northeast of Périgueux on the Isle . Savignac-les-Églises is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Jory-las-Bloux in the north, Coulaures in the northeast, Mayac in the east, Cubjac-Auvézère-Val d'Ans in the south and southeast, Saint-Vincent-sur-l'Isle in the south, Sarliac-sur-l'Isle in the southwest and Sorges et Ligueux en Périgord in the west.
