Mayan ( Occitan : Maiac ) is a French municipality with 342 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the north of the department Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Nontron and the canton of Isle-Loue-Auvézère (until 2015: canton of Savignac-les-Églises ). The inhabitants are called Mayacois .

geography

Mayac is located about 20 kilometers northeast of Périgueux on the Isle . Mayac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Coulaures in the north and east, Cubjac-Auvézère-Val d'Ans in the south and Savignac-les-Églises in the west.
