Vaunac ( Occitan : Veunac ) is a municipality with 273 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the French department Dordogne in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Nontron and the Canton of Thiviers . The inhabitants are called Vaunacais .
geography
Vaunac is located about 22 kilometers northeast of Périgueux . Vaunac is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Jean-de-Côle in the north and north-west, Thiviers and Eyzerac in the north and north-east, Corgnac-sur-l'Isle in the east, Négrondes in the south, Lempzours in the south-west and Saint-Pierre-de- Côle to the west and northwest.
The National Route 21 runs through the municipality .
