The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Nontron and the canton of Isle-Loue-Auvézère (until 2015: canton of Lanouaille ). The inhabitants are called Dussacais .

Dussac is located about 40 kilometers northeast of Périgueux . Dussac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sarrazac in the north and northwest, Sarlande in the northeast, Lanouaille in the east, Saint-Médard-d'Excideuil in the south and southeast, Clermont-d'Excideuil in the south and southwest and Saint-Sulpice-d'Excideuil in the West.
