Marsac-sur-l'Isle ( Occitan : Marçac d'Eila ) is a commune with 3,104 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Périgueux and the canton of Coulounieix-Chamiers . The inhabitants are called Marsacois .
geography
Marsac-sur-l'Isle is located about five kilometers west of Périgueux on the river Isle . Marsac-sur-l'Isle is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chancelade in the north, Périgueux in the northeast, Coulounieix-Chamiers in the east, Coursac in the south, Razac-sur-l'Isle in the southwest and Annesse-et-Beaulieu in the west.
The former route nationale 89 (today's D6089) leads through the municipality .
