The Nordic Combined World Cup season 2016/17 began on November 26, 2016 in Ruka and ended on March 19, 2017 in Schonach . The season consisted of a total of 23 individual competitions and a team and team sprint competition.
The decision about the overall World Cup winner was made in the last race. With a win, the German Eric Frenzel secured the overall World Cup victory for the fifth time in a row, ahead of Johannes Rydzek and Akito Watabe . The German team also won the Nations Cup for the fifth time in a row, ahead of Austria and Norway.
In contrast to the last World Cup season, competitions were held on the Asian continent again: As a dress rehearsal for the 2018 Olympic Games , two individual competitions were held in Pyeongchang , South Korea ; in addition, two individual competitions were held in Sapporo , Japan . In return, the World Cups in Klingenthal and Kuopio were canceled.
