Career

Bayliss Levrett started in a total of ten races in the AAA National Series in 1949 and 1950 . His best result was a fourth place, which he achieved in Milwaukee in 1949 on a Kurtis Kraft - Offenhauser .

He competed twice in Indianapolis . In 1949 a lost oil drain plug stopped him after 52 laps, in 1950 he put back 105 laps from 17th on the grid and then handed his car over to Bill Cantrell , who had to retire only three laps later. In 1951 he could not qualify for the race. In 1952 he had a serious accident in qualifying for the race, in which he was burned. Then he ended his career. Since the 500 miles from Indianapolis were part of the driver’s world championship from 1950 to 1960 , he also has a Grand Prix start.

He died at the age of 88 in Reno after prolonged Alzheimer's disease .
