Beau Vallon is one of the 25 administrative districts of the Seychelles . With only 3.7 square kilometers and 4049 inhabitants, it is one of the most densely populated districts on the island of Mahé . The district is named after Beau Vallon Bay (German: Bay of the beautiful valley) , the longest beach in the Seychelles. The development of beach tourism began here in the mid-1970s with the “Hotel des Seychelles”. Today Beau Vallon is the tourist center of the Seychelles with its three large beach hotels, numerous guest houses and restaurants as well as a wide range of water sports. The largest casino in the country is located here.
