La Rivière Anglaise is an administrative district of the Seychelles on the island of Mahé . The district is one of the metropolitan districts of Greater Victoria with many important buildings.
geography
The district is located on the east coast of the northeastern tip of Mahé. It is bounded by the districts of Anse Etoile , Mont Buxton , and Bel Air . Beau Vallon extends from a common border point to the west to the opposite coast and in the northeast are the islands that belong to Mont Fleuri ( Sainte Anne , Île au Cerf , Moyenne )
The southern part of the district in particular is the location of important buildings: Victoria Clocktower , Cathédrale de l'Immaculée-Conception de Victoria , the Hindu temple Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple (அருள்மிகு நவசக்தி விநாயகர் ஆலயம்) and શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણ મંદિર, શીશલ્સ, Bicentennial Monument Seychelles , Freedom Square Ground , SBC Radio Station and many banks, as well as port facilities (Marine Charter). Two of the few rivers in the Seychelles run in this district: Rivière Pointe Conan and Rivière Anglaise .
