Bednarzówka ( German  Böttchershof ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the urban and rural community Zalewo (Saalfeld) in the Iława (Prussian Eylau) district.

Geographical location

Bednarzówka is located on the northeastern edge of the Eylauer Seenplatte landscape protection park (Park Krajobrazowy Pojezierza Iławskiego) on a side road that leads from Półwieś (Ebenau) via Jezierce (Haack) to Dobrzyki (Weinsberg) . It is 25 kilometers to the former district town of Morąg (Mohrungen) and 23 kilometers to the current Powiat capital Iława (Prussian Eylau) .

history

The small place called Böttchershof before 1945 consisted of only one - but very large - courtyard. As a residential area for the community of Haack (now in Polish: Jezierce), the place was closely connected to the mother community until 1929 and from 1874 it belonged to the district of Weinsdorf (Dobrzyki) in the district of Mohrungen in the district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1929 the municipalities of Haack and Kämmen (Kiemiany) merged to form the new rural municipality of Kämmen, making Böttchershof a place to live in this municipality.

As a result of the war, Böttchershof came to Poland with southern East Prussia in 1945 . Today the place is part of the Schulzenamt (Polish: sołectwo) Dobrzyki (Weinsdorf) within the city and rural community of Zalewo (Saalfeld in East Prussia) , no longer belongs to the Mohrungen district, but is now in the area of the Powiat Iławski ( Prussian Eylau district ) within the province Masuria (1975 to 1998: Province Olsztyn (Allenstein) ).

Religions

Evangelical

Before 1945, the majority of the Böttchershof population was of Protestant denomination. The place was parish in the parish of Weinsdorf , which last belonged to the Diocese of Saalfeld (now in Polish: Zalewo) in the parish of Mohrungen (Morąg) within the church province of East Prussia of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union . Since 1945 Bednarzówka's evangelical church members have been in the minority. Today they are incorporated into the parish of Ostróda (Osterode in East Prussia) with its nearest branch churches in Iława and Morąg , which belongs to the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Catholic

Before 1945, the Catholic church members in Böttchershof were assigned to the parish of St. Josef in Mohrungen (Morąg), which belonged to the Deanery Pomesanien (seat: Osterode in East Prussia) in the Diocese of Warmia . Today the largest part of the population is Bednarzówka's Catholic denomination. The pre-1945 Protestant church in Dobrzyki (Weinsdorf) is now the Catholic parish church in whose catchment area Bednarzówka is located. She is part of the dean's office Miłomłyn (Liebemühl) in the diocese of Elbląg (Elbing) of the Catholic Church in Poland .
