The Bell 427 is supplied with a skid landing gear and is designed for the transport of up to eight people in a 2 + 3 + 3 configuration. The drive is controlled by a FADEC .
history
Bell tried earlier to bring a twin-engine version of the successful Bell 206 on the market. But it was only the Bell 427, which was presented and redesigned in February 1996, that caught on. The Bell 427 had its maiden flight on December 11, 1997. It was approved by the FAA in May 2000. It is to be replaced by the Bell 429 in the longer term .
