The Bell 429 is an eight-seat twin-engine helicopter made by the US manufacturer Bell Helicopter with turbine drive .
development
The first flight took place on February 27, 2007, the Canadian aviation authority TCCA approved the helicopter on July 1, 2009, EASA according to CS-27 on September 23, 2009. The Bell 429 is manufactured in Mirabel , Canada .
As early as November 2005, 136 orders had already been placed and in February 2008 over 260. The unit price was around 5 to 6 million US dollars . The Bell 429WLG was presented at the beginning of 2013, a further development with retractable landing gear and increased flight performance.
technology
The model is based on the Bell 427 , but has a larger cabin with a flat floor, avionics that allow instrument flight even with a pilot, and a four-blade main rotor with variable speed. The Bell 429 can be supplied with a retractable wheel chassis (then referred to as the Bell 429WLG ) or with skids . A tailgate for patient transport is optionally available. Two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW207 D1 shaft turbines with FADEC serve as the drive .
