The Bell 505 is a light single-engine helicopter of the US manufacturer Bell Helicopter , his nickname is Jet Ranger X .
history
The helicopter was first presented as a concept proposal at the 2013 Paris Air Show as the Bell SLS (Short Light Single). The official naming as Bell 505 JRX (Jet Ranger X) took place at the Heli Expo 2014. The Lafayette Regional Airport in Lafayette in the US state of Louisiana was chosen for the production site . The aircraft took off for its maiden flight on November 10, 2014 . The second machine followed at the beginning of 2015 (registration number: C-FTVN, serial number FTV-2) with which autorotation flights were carried out for the first time. At this point in time, there were over 300 letters of intent . On December 21, 2016, the Canadian Aviation Administration granted the Bell 505 its civil type certification.
As the successor to the successful Bell 206 model , the 505 is in direct competition with the Robinson R66 .
Technical specifications
The single-engine machine is powered by a Turbomeca Arrius 2R with fully digital FADEC engine control. The Garmin G1000 H is intended for avionics .
