On August 1, 1847, Zenetti was ordained a priest and worked as a secular chaplain of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising , two years as a cooperator (auxiliary chaplain) in Bad Tölz , then in the same position in Aufkirchen .

On December 28, 1851, Wilhelm Zenetti entered the Benedictine order and was given the name of the order "Benedict". At first he was used as a novice master and prior in the St. Boniface monastery, Munich, in 1864 he became director of the " Hollandeum " educational institute supervised there . On June 2, 1876, Zenetti took part in the funeral of Bishop Daniel Bonifaz von Haneberg in Speyer with Wilhelm Emmanuel von Ketteler from Mainz . Haneberg had been his predecessor as Abbot of St. Boniface in Munich. Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria awarded Zenetti the Order of Merit of St. Michael , 3rd class.

His brother Arnold Zenetti was a well-known architect and master builder of Munich, the other brother, Julius von Zenetti , was the district president of Middle Franconia in Ansbach .
