Career

youth

Freudenthaler began his career in 1996, about three months after his seventh birthday, in the youth division of Union Schenkenfelden in the Upper Austrian market town of Schenkenfelden in the Mühlviertel region . After he had gone through several youth league classes at Union, he came to LASK in the Upper Austrian capital in August 2002 as a cooperation player . He stayed there the first time until June 2003, before he returned to his home club for two months. Up until 2005, this happened a few more times. From 2005 he continued to play in the youth of Union Schenkenfelden , from where he first moved to the Linz Football Academy and then came to LASK again during the summer break before the 2006/07 season . In the 2006/07 season he was still top scorer of the U-19 youth league sponsored by Toto with 17 goals , and soon afterwards made his league debut for the Linz athletes.

Club career

After he was already active for SPG LASK / ESV Wels from 2007 to 2008 , he finally made his Austrian Bundesliga debut on September 27, 2008 in a 2-0 home win over Kapfenberger SV . In the game, Freudenthaler came on for Christian Mayrleb in the 90th minute . Until he left on loan to Lustenau , Freudenthaler played in eight Bundesliga games. In addition to his involvement with the LASK Bundesliga team, from 2008 to 2009 he also worked for the second team, SPG LASK II / Schwanenstadt .

In the summer of 2009 it was announced that Freudenthaler was transferring to SC Austria Lustenau in the second highest Austrian division, the First League , on loan for one year . There he completed 30 league games and three ÖFB Cup games in which he came across a total of one goal. This, which was also his first professional goal, he scored on August 7, 2009 in a 4-0 away win over SKN St. Pölten , when he shot his team 1-0 after 26 minutes. The assistant in this case was Edin Salkić , who made two more assists during the game.

In the summer of 2010 he was awarded again by LASK, this time for SV Grödig , who had been promoted to the second division . He has been playing for FC Admira Wacker Mödling since summer 2012 . The contract was terminated on January 21st. Then LASK took him under contract.

International

Furthermore, Freudenthaler already gained experience in the Austrian U-19 selection , for which he played a total of two games. At the end of August 2009 he was nominated for the first time for the U-20 national team by coach Hermann Stadler with regard to the traditional four-nation tournament (Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria) . Freudenthaler played the full game against the Swiss U-20 team on September 8th. In this game, which was played in Frauenfeld , the young midfielder scored the only goal for Austria from around 25 meters; the game ended in a 1-1 draw after the Austrians missed several opportunities to increase their lead.
