Benka Barloschky (born January 1, 1988 in Bremen ) is a German basketball coach. He is currently head coach at SC Rist Wedel and also assistant coach at Hamburg Towers .

career

Barloschky played in his youth at BTS Neustadt and at TSV Lesum in his hometown of Bremen, before moving to the youth department of the Bundesliga club EWE Baskets Oldenburg . Later, the almost 1.90 meter tall player played for the Oldenburg TB and VfL Stade in the Regionalliga, while he was studying law in Hamburg from 2009  .

For health reasons ( pelvic inclination ), he ended his playing career in 2013 and took over as coach at VfL Stade. With the Lower Saxony, he was promoted from the regional league to the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in his last year as a player  . As a coach, he looked after Stade during the ProB season 2013/14, but had to accept relegation. Also in the 2014/15 game year (now in the regional league) Barloschky sat in the coaching bench in Stade.

For the 2015/16 season, Barloschky switched  to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA as an assistant coach at Hamburg Towers . In mid-February 2018 he was promoted  to head coach at the Hanseatic League after separating from Hamed Attarbashi . When Mike Taylor was signed as the new Hamburg coach in May 2018, Barloschky moved back to the post of assistant coach. In this position he was involved in winning the ProA championship title in the 2018/19 game year. For the 2019/20 season he took up the position of head coach at SC Rist Wedel in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB , but also remained an assistant coach at the Towers.
