Benno Herrmannsdörfer

Benno Herrmannsdörfer (born March 20, 1916 in Altötting ; † 2005 ) was a German lawyer and politician ( CSU , NPD , BP ). In 1966 he moved into the Bavarian state parliament as a member of the NPD . In July 1970 he resigned from the NPD and became the top candidate of the Bavarian Party in the constituency of Lower Bavaria.

After graduating from high school and completing two years of military service at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, Herrmannsdörfer began studying law . His professional career was interrupted when he was drafted into the Wehrmacht after the first state examination in autumn 1940 . There he rose to the rank of lieutenant . In the summer of 1941 he and his unit went to war against the Soviet Union and during the course of the campaign fell into Soviet captivity. After five years in prison, he returned to Germany. Herrmannsdörfer completed his legal training and entered the judicial service at the Munich Regional Court in 1952. With the promotion toHe switched to the administration of the German Patent Office . From 1962 on, he served as a Senate Councilor at the Federal Patent Court in Munich.

In 1964 Herrmannsdörfer first became a member of the CSU , but in April 1965 he switched to the NPD, whose state chairman he became at the end of 1966. With the election success of the NPD in the state elections of November 20, 1966 , he entered the Bavarian state parliament via the constituency of Lower Franconia . There he was a member of the State Budget and Financial Affairs Committee. The Bavarian State Parliament elected him in 1969 as a member of the Federal Assembly , which elected Gustav Heinemann as Federal President . At the national party conference of the NPD in February 1970 in Wertheim , he announced his resignation as Bavarian NPD state chairman. On July 22, 1970, he announced his resignation from the party as the second NPD member after Walter Brandner . However, he retained his mandate and was a non-attached member of parliament until the end of the legislative period on November 22, 1970. In the state elections in 1970 he was the top candidate of the Bavarian Party in the constituency of Lower Bavaria .
