Bernard Hoffmeister

Bernard Hoffmeister (* 1989 in Leipzig ) is a German slam poet , author and presenter.

biography

Hoffmeister studied philosophy, arts and media at the University of Hildesheim from 2008 to 2011 with a bachelor's degree . He achieved his master's degree in media culture analysis at the University of Düsseldorf in 2015 . He has been participating in poetry slams throughout Germany since 2011 , and in 2012 he took part in the Lower Saxony-Bremen state slam championships in Osnabrück . He was a poet in the North Rhine-Westphalian counterpart, the NRW Slam , in 2012, 2014 and 2015. In the meantime, he moderates and organizes his own (literary) events in the Düsseldorf area, such as the Pitcher Poetry Slam or the Best Of Slam . He also gives workshops on creative writing. In 2013 his text "Unruhestift" was presented on the Podcastpoesie portal . In 2015 he moderated Poetry.Slam.Europa in the NRW Forum . Hoffmeister is one of the organizers of the German-speaking Slam Championships 2017 in Hanover . Together with Johannes Floehr , he organized the North Rhine-Westphalian U20 championships in the Poetry Slam in Krefeld in May 2018. Another joint project is called " Unnecessary Slam Knowledge ", in which the two collect facts and curiosities from the poetry slam scene. Some of Hoffmeister's research on this was published in 2017 in " Poetry Slam - das Handbuch " ( Lektora- Verlag).

Since the fourth issue (2012) he has been the editor of the Düsseldorf literary magazine S / ash, which appears once a year and each issue has a special topic. Texts by Sebastian 23 , Fabian Navarro , Jason Bartsch , Laurin Buser , Tobias Kunze , Patrick Salmen and Wolf Hogekamp have been published there.

Hoffmeister is also the author of quiz questions for TV quiz shows like asked - hunted , who wants to be a millionaire? and five against Jauch . In the Pitcher pub in Düsseldorf , he and his brother Tobias Hoffmeister, who also writes TV quiz questions, organized the pub quiz " Who will be the old master? "

Hoffmeister has lived and worked in Düsseldorf since 2011 .
