Bernardino Honorati (also Onorati ) (born July 17, 1724 in Jesi ; † August 12, 1807 in Senigallia ) was a cardinal of the Roman Church .

Life

The son of a Marchese studied at the University of La Sapienza in Rome Law and graduated on 10 February 1749 a Dr. jur. utr. From July 7, 1749 he was trainee lawyer for the Apostolic Signature . Pope Benedict XIV appointed him papal house prelate . From 1748 to 1749 he was deputy delegate of Romagna , and from 1758 to 1759 governor of Loreto . Honorati was ordained a priest on December 31, 1759 and was appointed titular archbishop of Side on January 28, 1760 . The episcopal ordination donated him on February 25, 1760 Giovanni Antonio Bacchettoni , Bishop of Loreto and Recanati . He was a member of the Roman Curia and, among other things, nuncio in Florence and Venice . From Pope Pius VI. created cardinal on June 23, 1777, the Pope appointed him cardinal priest of Santi Marcellino e Pietro and bishop of Senigallia on July 28, 1777 . Honorati then carried the personal title of archbishop .

Honorati took part in the conclave of 1799/1800 , which Pope Pius VII elected.

He died in Senigallia and was buried in the local cathedral .
