Bernd Schroeder
Bernd Schroeder (born June 6, 1944 in Aussig , Reichsgau Sudetenland ) is a German writer .
Life
Schroeder was born in Aussig in 1944 while his parents were on the run . He grew up in Fürholzen near Neufahrn ( Upper Bavaria ) and passed his Abitur at the Camerloher Gymnasium Freising . He studied theater history, German and folklore in Munich .
Since 1968 he has written television plays as a screenwriter , among others for Wolfgang Petersen . He directed his own and some other radio plays. In 1986 he received the Adolf Grimme Prize in silver for The Iron Way , together with Hans-Werner Schmidt. In 1992 he was awarded the German Film Prize. Since 1993 he has published various novels. He is a member of the German PEN Center .
Bernd Schroeder was married to Elke Heidenreich . He is married again and lives in Ahrenshoop and Rostock .
