Betty choice
Betty Wahl (born March 31, 1965 in Wiesbaden ) is a German Scandinavian and literary translator .
Life
Betty election completed a study of Scandinavian Studies , English Studies and German Studies at the universities in Freiburg , Glasgow , Reykjavik and Frankfurt , which she in 1997 with the master's degree completed. This was followed by postgraduate studies on book and media practice in Frankfurt am Main . After stays in Dublin , Glasgow and Reykjavík , she held teaching positions at the University of Frankfurt and at the Nordkolleg Rendsburg and worked from 1999 to 2001 as a member of the "Edda Commentary" project of the German Research Foundation . In 2007 she did her doctorate at the University of Frankfurt with a thesis on the language policy of Iceland . Wahl teaches Icelandic at the University of Frankfurt.
In addition to teaching, Betty Wahl translates fiction from Icelandic , English , Norwegian and Danish into German .
Wahl is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works , VdÜ. She lives in Reykjavík and Frankfurt am Main.
