Billie Bird

Bernice "Billie" Bird (born February 28, 1908 in Pocatello , Idaho , † November 27, 2002 in Granada Hills , Los Angeles ) was an American actress and comedian .

Life

Bird recorded her first role in the short silent film Grass Widowers in 1921. A second film only followed in 1950 with mortal hostility . In the following years she occupied leading and supporting roles in various US film productions. In addition to dramas, she appeared quite often in comedies, which resulted from the fact that she also worked as a stage comedian. From the 70s and 80s she was increasingly seen in recurring roles in television series. As the only actress she embodied two different characters in the Police Academy series : Mrs. Lois Feldman in Police Academy 4 - And now it's all going and Mrs. Stanwyck in Police Academy 6 - Resistance is futile .

She died on November 27, 2002 in Granada Hills, Los Angeles at the age of 94. In the last few years of her life she suffered from Alzheimer's disease .
