Only a castle hill and the moats are evidence of the castle that was probably lost in the 12th century .

A former hut area borders the cliffs , which was reforested with pine trees after grazing was abandoned in 1960 . Through succession , a species-rich grassland developed under the pines. The rare plants in the lean meadow biotope on the cliffs include German dog tongues , stendelwurzen , barberry , juniper , peonies , grass lily and the very rare orchid creeping net leaf .
