Binder is a village in the Wolfenbüttel district , which belongs to the municipality of Baddeckestedt . In 2010 it had around 200 inhabitants.

geography

The village is located west of Baddeckestedt and is surrounded by the B 6 , A 7 and A 39 , and the rails of the Hildesheim – Goslar railway are nearby.

history

In the 12th century, Binder was a fiefdom from Gandersheim Monastery . The chapel belonged to the Holle church . Here, as in Lechstedt and Bockenem, the landowners were the Linde family. In 1340 the Derneburg Monastery gave him patronage over the Holle Chapel. The Linde family died out in the battle of Sievershausen . Thereupon Heinrich II transferred the estate to the Stopler family, since Dr. Stopler was his chancellor. This also came the patronage over the church ties to the sex Stopler that even with Dannhausen tithe had. The Stopler family died out in 1816, so that the rights came to the Hanover Monastery Chamber. Ernst Friedrich Herbert zu Munster became landlord through an exchange . The estate was sold to the Alten family .

Binder has belonged to the Wolfenbüttel district since 1941, until then it belonged to the Marienburg district (Hanover) .

On March 1, 1974, Binder was incorporated into the municipality of Baddeckestedt.

Today the Binder church belongs to a parish association together with Westerlinde near Burgdorf , Osterlinde and Wartjenstedt near Baddeckestedt. This parish association belongs to the provost of Salzgitter-Lebenstedt in the Evangelical Lutheran regional church in Braunschweig . Catholic residents belong to the parish of St. Hubertus Wohldenberg, Deanery Alfeld-Detfurth.

Culture and sights

The manor house and the village church are worth seeing.

The sports club Binder has joined forces with Wartjenstedt and Rhene near Baddeckestedt.
