Biogno Beride is part of the Ticino political municipality Croglio in the Sessa district, in the Lugano district and is located in central Malcantone .

geography

The village is 515 m above sea level. M. in Malcantone , on the eastern slope of the Tresa valley and 2.5 km northwest of the Ponte Tresa TI station on the Lugano -Ponte Tresa line.

history

Almost at the end of the ten years' war between Como and Milan (1118–1127), the Milanese troops destroyed the Albeleto (Beride) castle, which belonged to Como. The village was first mentioned in 1301. In 1419 vicinia sent their representatives to the Count Rusca , the lords of the Lugano Valley, to take an oath of loyalty. Biogno and Beride formed two municipalities administered by a single municipality.
