The Pragobanka Tour 1996 was the third edition of the ice hockey tournament that has been taking place in the Czech Republic since 1994 , as a continuation of the Pragobanka Cup . Since this year the tournament has been part of the new Euro Hockey Tour . From that year the national teams of Sweden , the Czech Republic and Finland , which was replaced by Slovakia , played for the unofficial title of the best European national team. The Russian team did not participate this year.

The 1996 games took place from August 14th to 18th in front of a total of 21,522 spectators in Zlín and Tampere . The Finnish national team won the tournament by goal difference when they first participated.
