The 1997 Pragobanka Cup was the fourth edition of the ice hockey tournament that has been taking place in the Czech Republic since 1994 . The tournament had been part of the new Euro Hockey Tour since last year . This year, for the first time, the national teams of Sweden , the Czech Republic , Russia and Finland competed for the unofficial title of the best European national team.
The games of 1997 took place from August 28th to 31st in front of a total of 24,930 spectators in Zlín . The Czech national team won the tournament for the third time.
