The international ice hockey tournament on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution was the beginning of the series of an annual ice hockey tournament for national teams in the Soviet Union , which from 1969 was called the Izvestia Cup . It was held from November 30th to December 6th, 1967 in Moscow , Leningrad and Voskressensk . In addition to two Soviet national teams from Czechoslovakia , Poland and Canada took part. Since the associations of Germany and Sweden declined the invitation, the USSR and the ČSSR each provided two teams.
