Biskupství (German Biskupstwo , 1939-1945 diocese ) is a settlement of the Městys Náměšť na Hané in the Czech Republic . It is located 15 kilometers west of Olomouc and belongs to the Okres Olomouc .

geography

Biskupství lies at the foot of the Zábřežská vrchovina on the edge of the Upper Moravian Basin ( Hornomoravský úval ). The village is located opposite Náměšť na Hané on the left side of the confluence of the Baběnec brook in the Šumice. To the west rises the Křemela (406 m) and in the northwest of the Bořík (340 m). The railway line Červenka - Prostějov runs east of the village , the nearest station is Náměšť na Hané .

Neighboring towns are Senička in the north, Senice na Hané in the northeast, Loučany in the east, Náměšť na Hané in the south, Krakovec, Rovina and Olbramice in the west and Nové Dvory in the north-west.

history

The first written mention of Biskupici was in 1131 in the property register of the Olomouc bishop Heinrich Zdik as property of the Church of St. Peter in Olomouc. In 1403 the place was called Biskupicz and from 1407 as Biskupstvo . On September 28, 1415, Olbram von Panovice and Biskupství together with Parcifal I. von Náměšť sealed a letter of protest against the burning of Jan Hus . Other forms of name were Biskupstwie (1464), Biskupství blíže Náměšťě (1481), Biskupství (1482), Biskupice (1502) and Biskupstwo (1508). In 1521 Hynek von Zwole combined both shares of Biskupstvo and Náměšť into one rule. Subsequent owners from 1556 included the lords of Würben auf Freudenthal , from 1650 the Zástřizl von Morkovice, from 1726 the Harrach counts and from 1780 the Kinský counts . The registers have been kept in Náměšť na Hané since 1709. In 1602 the place was called Piskowicz . In the course of the parceling out of a manorial farm, the Familienhof colony was founded in 1792. Until the middle of the 19th century, Biskupstwo always remained subordinate to Namiescht.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Biskupství / Biskupstwo with the district Nové Dvory / family farm from 1850, a municipality in the district administration Olomouc . From 1921 the municipality belonged to the Okres Olomouc-venkov. During the German occupation , the community had the German name diocese . 1949 Biskupství was incorporated with Nové Dvory after Náměšť na Hané and at the same time assigned to the Okres Olomouc-okolí. Since 1961 the place belongs to the Okres Olomouc.
