The Diocese of Chulucanas ( lat. : Dioecesis Chulucanensis ) is in the northwest of Peru located Roman Catholic diocese based in Chulucanas . It covers the territory of the three provinces of Ayabaca, Huancabamba and Morropón.
history
The diocese of Chulucanas was on March 4, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Venerabilis Frater as the territorial prelature of Chulucanas and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Piura as a suffragan . On December 12, 1988, the territorial prelature Chulucanas was raised to the diocese by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Quoniam praelaticia .
