The Diocese of Hasselt , located in Belgium (Latin: Dioecesis Hasseletensis , Dutch : Bisdom Hasselt ) with its seat in Hasselt , was detached from the Diocese of Liège on June 8, 1967 and became an independent diocese of the Ecclesiastical Province of Mechelen .

With an area of ​​2468 km² it is congruent with the province of Limburg .
