The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kindu ( Latin Dioecesis Kinduensis , French Diocèse de Kindu ) is in the Democratic Republic of Congo situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Kindu .

history

The Diocese of Kindu was on April 23, 1956 by Pope Pius XII. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Apostolica Sedes from cessions of territory by the Apostolic Vicariates Kongolo and Stanleyville as Apostolic Vicariate Kindu . On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate Kindu was by Pope John XXIII. raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Bukavu as a suffragan .
