The Diocese of Limeira ( Latin Dioecesis Limeirensis , Portuguese Diocese de Limeira ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Limeira in the state of São Paulo .

history

The diocese of Limeira was on April 29, 1976 by Pope Paul VI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution De superna animarum from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Campinas and the Diocese of Piracicaba and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Campinas as a suffragan . The diocese of Limeira gave on December 23, 1997 parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Amparo .
